Year 1- IPC Exit Point

Here are some photos of our exit point. We had a chill out area (!) with painting, making pom poms, hammer beads, music, cushions and blankets, puzzles, music and chocolate tasting!

Strike Day- 17th October

Dear Parents,

Strike action- Thursday 17th October

We have been informed by the two largest teacher unions, the NASUWT and the NUT, that they will be taking industrial action in the form of a strike on Thursday 17th October. This action is not against Wrotham Road itself but is part of national industrial action organised by these trade unions about changes to pay, pensions, working conditions and jobs.

Neither the governing body nor the headteacher is legally allowed to close the school, however, we have carried out a risk assessment and the classes that will be closed are as followed:-

Nursery and and pm sessions
Miss Butt- Reception
Miss Baker- Reception
Mrs Fox- Year 1
Miss Gullifer- Year 1
Mrs Grant- Year 2
Miss White-Year 2
Mrs Webster/ Mrs Smith- Year 3
Miss Walsh- Year 4
Mrs Denton- Year 4

Year 3 Miss Watson, both Year 5 and 6 classes will remain open.

We realise that the strike action and closure of the school for those classes causes disruption, but the health and safety of staff and students is of paramount importance. We wanted to give parents/ carers as much notice as possible in order to make any necessary arrangements for Thursday 17th October.

There is no requirement for unions to inform us of which members of staff will take action but they have kindly done so. We must all hope that the issues over which the industrial action has arisen are resolved as soon as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Green
Headteacher
