Music Show 27th January- "Bach To The Future"

Today we had a fantastic live music experience for the whole school. Bach to the Future was a one hour interactive audio-visual performance, presented by three leading musicians.
The show was designed to take the pupils on a 300 year musical voyage of discovery and includes classical, jazz and popular music; music from TV shows, film and music theatre; as well as fun and interactive demonstrations of musical instruments from each of the instrument families.

Dear Parents,

Welcome back, I hope you all had a wonderful break, enjoyed the celebrations and had a great New Year. Here at Wrotham Road we are very much looking forward to an exciting 2014.

You will shortly receive Curriculum Newsletters from your child’s teacher, these will outline the terms ahead and give an indication of what the children will be studying. These newsletters will also be on the website once they become available, as will up-to-date diary dates.

The new IPC Units this term are:-

Year 1- Seeing the light
Year 2- From A – B. Transport and Travel
Year 3- Saving the World
Year 4- Time and Place Earth and Space
Year 5-Investigators
     Year 6- Mission to Mars

Make sure you check the blog for photos and information about the children’s learning.   http://wrothamroad.blogspot.co.uk

As you may be aware Mrs Goatham has been unwell for sometime and has decided not to return to the school in order to focus on getting better. We would like to thank her for her loyal service with the school and wish her all the best for the future.
During the last term, a number of children were very unwell with the sickness bug. Can I just remind all parents about our sickness policy .To protect both children and staff from the spread of infection, parents are asked to keep a sick child who has been sick, at home until he or she is fully recovered. A child should be kept away from school until the child has been clear of the problem for 48 hours. If your child is unwell and will not be attending school, you are asked to inform the school office by 8.50am each day.
As always, we look forward to working with you all in a postivie way over the coming year.

Kindest regards,

Sarah Green
