Strike Action- Wednesday

Dear Parents,

Strike Action- Wednesday 26th March

We have been informed by the NUT teachers unions, that they will be taking industrial action in the form of a strike on Wednesday 26th March. This action is not against Wrotham Road itself but is part of national industrial action about changes to pay, pensions, working conditions and jobs.

Neither the governing body nor the headteacher is legally allowed to close the school, however, we have carried out a risk assessment and the classes that will be closed are as followed:-

Nursery am and pm sessions
Mrs Fox- Year 1
Miss Gullifer- Year 1
Miss White-Year 2

All the other classes will remain open.

We realise that the strike action and closure of the school for those classes causes disruption, but the health and safety of staff and students is of paramount importance. We wanted to give parents/ carers as much notice as possible in order to make any necessary arrangements for Wednesday  26th March

There is no requirement for unions to inform us of which members of staff will take action but they have kindly done so. We must all hope that the issues over which the industrial action has arisen are resolved as soon as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Change4Life aims to help Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils understand the benefits of eating well and living a more active lifestyle from an early age.
We all know that eating a balanced diet is fundamental to the development of children’s health and wellbeing and their ability to lead healthier, active lifestyles – and healthy pupils are more likely to be effective learners. That’s why in schools we’re focussing on what children eat for breakfast and lunch.
