The soldiers, gods, goddesses and Ancient Roman slaves of Year 3 all took part in an action packed Roman day on Tuesday when they returned to school for the new term! As part of their new IPC curriculum, each child researched different mosaics of the era and how the Ancient Romans made these for their villa floors; they then went on to create different mosaics of their own in groups. We also looked at how soldiers defended themselves during battle and how the shields changed over time. Each child made their very own Roman shield which are currently all proudly hanging in the classrooms before being used for our new displays.
